Stuff you shouldn't do:

Don't upload or link to anything that is or looks like pornography or gore, or upload any content that is copyrighted, or engage in any form of harassment or spam through the site. If you do, we'll remove it immediately, and take futher action at our discression, which could include reporting you to the authorities, the deletion of your entire account, and preventing you from using GreedList services. We're serious.

Who owns what?

All images, links, and other user-uploaded content are the sole property and responsibility of the person who uploaded or created them. GreedList takes no responsibility for any user-uploaded information, and suggests you research the appropriate laws in your area to find out what is and is not legal.

Hotlinking

Please don't hotlink images hosted on our servers, they're under enough stress as it is. If we catch you hotlinking, we will take some sort of action to stop you from doing it, or punish you. And it'll be mean. And you won't like it. So don't hotlink, please. If you need an image hoster, please use the free service imgur.

Playing nice

GreedList is a free service, supported by ads. We hate annoying ads, so we try to make them as non-intrusive as possible. You may choose to use some form of ad-block if you like, but we would prefer if you white-listed GreedList.

We try as hard as we can to keep people from abusing the site and doing things like finding what kind of gifts others are getting them. We are constantly trying to introduce ways to prevent troublemakers from abusing the site like this. Unfortunately, sometimes this may prevent you from using the site as you'd like, and GreedList can't take any responsibility for that. Additionally, we aren't perfect, and we make mistakes and overlook things sometimes. Greedlist takes no responsibility for the revealing of private information relating to the plans or purchases regarding items submitted by users.

There is a messaging system in GreedList. However, people can only send you messages if they are in your contacts. Greedlist cannot be held responsible for anything sent in messages to you. If you are receiving messages you don't like, remove the sender from your contacts.

In short: We try to make people play nice, but there's almost always a way around. Don't participate in gift events with people you cannot or should not trust.

We will never sell, give away, or in any way provide a third party with your personal information without your consent. This does not include information about items on your wish lists, but when that sort of information is provided, we will not provide enough information to trace it back to you.

1. User Generated Content (UGC) refers to any picture or file that has the potential to be uploaded to GreedList. It also refers to any user-submitted text or information including but not limited to the names and information submitted for events and items, the descriptions on events or items, content written in a private message or posted as a comment on things including but not limited to events and items.

2. 'User' refers to anyone using or accessing the site in anyway, regardless of if they've created an account.

Terms of Service:

IMPORTANT! The terms of service (ToS) govern your use of this site, which is provided by GreedList. By accessing this site, you are indicating your acknowledgment and acceptance of the terms of service. The terms of service are subject to change by GreedList at any time in its discretion. Your use of this site after such changes are implemented constitutes your acknowledgment and acceptance of the changes. Please consult the terms of service regularly.

User Generated Content:

GreedList reserves the right to remove or replace any uploaded files at any time, and assumes no liability for lost content.

The following types of files constitute "abuse" and may not be uploaded under any circumstances, when using GreedList:

  • Files that violate any law or may be considered to violate any law.
  • Files that infringe on the copyrights of any entity excluding the user.
  • Files that advertise any commercial endeavor (e.g., offering for sale products or services) or otherwise engages in any commercial activity (e.g., conducting raffles or contests, displaying sponsorship banners, and/or soliciting goods or services).
  • Nudity or pornography, or anything that may be confused as nudity or pornography.
  • Gore or "shock" images that are that are intended to be offensive, disgusting and/or disturbing to viewers.

Uploading abusive files may result in the immediate termination of the user's ability to use GreedList or any of its provided services. The GreedList website may not load, all hosted files or information may not load, and all files related to the abusive files will be subject to deletion. Circumventing GreedList's ability to enforce the GreedList Terms of Service will result in prosecution.

Providing links to file-sharing, torrent, and pornographic sites is prohibited.

Using the GreedList services to harass anyone or initiate in any unwanted contact is strictly prohibited, and could result in the suspension or deletion of your account, followed by appropriate legal action.

To report any type of abuse, send an email to abuse@greedlist.com detailing the type of abuse, the email address of the user committing the abuse, your email address, and any other appropriate information. 

It may take up to 7 days to process these reports.

Privacy:

All information provided by the user is strictly confidential. GreedList reserves the right to distribute aggregated demographic information provided by the user, but GreedList will never release any personally identifiable information about the user without permission. However, GreedList reserves the right to release user information if user has violated the GreedList Terms of Service, if the information is subpoenaed, or if the user has committed unlawful acts.

Notwithstanding anything else herein, we may partner with third party advertisers who may (themselves or through their partners) place or recognize a unique cookie on your browser. These cookies enable more customized ads, content or services to be provided to you. To trigger these cookies, we may pass an encrypted or “hashed” (non-human readable) identifier corresponding to your email address to a Web advertising partner, who may place a cookie on your computer. GreedList makes no guarantee of availability of service and reserves the right to change, withdraw, suspend, or discontinue any functionality or feature of GreedList's services. In no event shall GreedList be liable for any damages whatsoever. This includes direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of the use of or inability to use GreedList's services or any content thereon.

Notification of Claims of Infringement:

If you believe that your work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, or that your intellectual property rights have been otherwise violated, please provide the following information to our agent:
  1. Identification of the material that you claim is infringing, with enough detail that we can locate it on the site.
  2. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the material’s use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

Indemnity:

User agrees to indemnify and hold GreedList harmless from any loss, liability, claims, damages and expenses, including attorneys fees, arising from or related to the content, use, or deletion of User Generated Content or use of any other feature or service. This expressly includes:

  • User's responsibility for any and all liability arising from the violation or infringement of proprietary rights or copyrights.
  • Any defamatory or unlawful material contained within User Generated Content.
Waiver:

By accepting these terms, you waive and hold harmless company from any claims resulting from any action taken by GreedList during or as a result of its investigations and/or from any actions taken as a consequence of investigations by either GreedList or law enforcement authorities.

Maintenance:

 GreedList may perform maintenance services at anytime, with no prior notice. User acknowledges that such maintenance may require downtime, and any and all GreedList services may function incorrectly or not load during this time.

Trademarks:

The names of actual companies and products displayed on the GreedList site, including those used in example images, may be the trademarks of their respective owners.
