Welcome to GreedList!

How can GreedList help you?

It can be hard keeping up with your many friends and family, especially those who don’t live nearby. It can be even harder around special occasions, when you want to get the perfect gift, but you just aren't quite sure what that is anymore. Gone are the days of sending awkward gift cards and checks to the people you care about. With GreedList, you don’t have to guess what your friends and family want for that upcoming holiday or other occasion.

GreedList lets anyone create wish lists for any occasion, and provides other unique services to keep track of, coordinate, and communicate gift ideas for yourself, your friends, and your family.  No more emailing lists, worrying about which things you want to tell which grandmother, or unsuccessfully dropping hints.

Using GreedList, you don’t have to make one list for one store and a separate list for another.  You don’t even have to pick a specific store or website for your list at all! You can include links to various merchants, upload a picture and add comments. Or, you can keep things very general: ‘I want pillows to match my sofa’, or ‘I want new games for my Xbox’, or even ‘I want a DVD player’ (but you don’t care exactly what make or model, or which store it comes from). You can even suggest additions to other people’s Greed Lists!

GreedList users can also set up many different lists for different categories or occasions. For example, your baby shower list is probably different from your Christmas list, or you may want to make a list just for movies or games that you would like. You can control which users can see your different lists.  You can make certain lists private so that only you can see them. Private lists are a great way to keep track of your own gift ideas for other people, especially if you are absent-minded and often think, “Oh, that’s a great idea for my husband’s/girlfriend’s (etc.) birthday!” but would otherwise forget about it by the time the birthday came around.

Unlike other gift list services, GreedList lets you create different events, called Gift Events for yourself, a friend, or a family member, such as birthdays, graduations, or anniversaries. You can then invite your friends and family to these Gift Events, where they will see the items the Guest of Honor (the recipient) has submitted. Everyone who is part of the Gift Event can see what has been purchased for the Guest of Honor, except, of course, for the person themselves! So no more worrying that someone else got Johnny that iPod he wanted, or Anna that DVD she’s had her eye on; you'll already know before you get anything!

You can even use GreedList to set up a gift exchange for a holiday such as Christmas! Create your event and add guests to it.  Then all the guests can see each other’s Greed Lists!  They can also see what has been purchased already – but Ralphie, you can’t see what others have bought for you!

GreedList isn’t just for individuals, but also for groups and organizations. A school or church can create a GreedList account and make their wish list public, so that anyone can see what donations are needed. You can also use it for company or other organized gift exchanges at holidays – instead of guessing what a co-worker might like that costs $20 or less, look on their Greed List and see for yourself! You can also coordinate needed services, such as needs after surgery or during an extended illness, by adding things like grocery shopping, rides to the doctor, or needed meals for particular days, to a Greed List.

But don’t worry, your friends and family don’t have to be registered GreedList users to view your Greed Lists or Gift Events. If you add someone to your contacts or a Gift Event, we’ll send them a link so they can see the lists and/or events you've decided to share with them.

By the way, GreedList isn’t greedy. 10% of GreedList profits will be donated to educational projects in needy areas.

Also, GreedList is free! There are no hidden charges, premium benefits, or any of that nonsense. Start using GreedList today, and quit wasting time and money guessing what your friends or relatives want, or forgetting the great ideas you already had. Get them what you know they’ll want, and get it right the first time!

Thanks, and enjoy the site!

P.S. - Coming soon, GreedList users will be able to set up limited accounts for minors, called GrdList accounts (like GreedList, but smaller!), associated with a regular account. Parents will be able to oversee their children’s accounts, remove inappropriate additions, and limit the ability to do certain actions such as specify that they will purchase items on a Gift Event, if they so desire.
